How comfortable is that?

I was near the Winners Enclosure at Sha Tin when Ugly Warrior won the Tsuen Lok Handicap.  The atmosphere was electric as his jubilant connections waited to greet their winner and take a picture with him.

The hard working photographers scrambled to take pictures of the horse and the connections.

There were upwards of 25 photographers from various English and Chinese publications.  I wondered about their deadlines and what they had to do to get their pictures and stories in on time for publication.

On a recent visit to Happy Valley, I was amazed at the infrastructure that the HKJC provides the racing public.  I greatly appreciated the dining aspects, the betting windows, the high quality telecast and the efficiency with which the races were conducted.  One aspect that surprised me is the make-shift nature of the area used by the the press photographers near the Happy Valley Paddock.

Racing is well covered in the English and Chinese press and includes well written articles and interviews paired with high definition pictures.  The hard work put in by the press photographers to get the best picture in a timely manner could be definitely more appreciated. 

I would be more than delighted to show case pictures of the improved facilities as soon as the HKJC makes them available for our very important colleagues.
